Mandate

  • To advise and make recommendations to Council on the implementation of recreational programming and sports in relation to the Community Parks, Recreation and Cultural Strategic Master Plan; 
  • To develop and maintain working relationships with sport and recreation user groups;
  • To advise and inform Council of matters related to: recreation programs, grants, funding initiatives and legislation.

Committee Composition

The Recreation and Sports Advisory Committee shall be comprised of seven members, including one member of Town Council, one youth representative, and six members of the public, with a maximum of twelve members.

Meeting dates: First Tuesday of each month, excluding July, August and December
Meeting time: 5:30 p.m.
Meeting location: Council Chambers, 200 Broadway, second floor
