NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO THE MUNICIPAL ELECTORS
OF THE TOWN OF TILLSONBURG
Notice is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Town of Tillsonburg that nominations for the following offices may be filed in person or by an agent between May 1, 2026 during regular business hours and until August 21, 2026 between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. (Nomination Day). The following Nominations must be submitted to the Office of the Clerk at 10 Lisgar Avenue, Tillsonburg.


Nominations for the Town of Tillsonburg will be accepted for the offices of:

One position to be elected at large.

Six positions to be elected at large.

Nominations for office for Tillsonburg Council will be accepted by appointment only, in-person at the Customer Service Centre, 10 Lisgar Avenue. Appointments are approximately half an hour and may be scheduled during regular business hours.

School Board

Nominations for the following School Board Offices must be submitted to the Municipal Clerk’s Office provided below each Office.

School Board Offices for Which Persons May Be Nominated:

Two members to be elected to represent Oxford County

One member to be elected to represent Oxford County

One member to be elected to represent the combined geographic area of the Counties of Norfolk, Haldimand, Elgin, Lambton and Oxford and the Municipality of Chatham-Kent

Inquiries for the above school board can be directed to the City of Sarnia Office: 255 Christina St. N., Sarnia, 519-332-0330

One member to be elected to represent the combined geographic area of the Counties Oxford, Elgin and Middlesex

Inquiries for the above school board can be directed to the City of Woodstock Clerk’s Office: 500 Dundas Street, Woodstock, ON 519-539-2382

Persons seeking to file a nomination in the 2026 Municipal Election must provide the following at the time of filing:

  • Current identification proving identity and a qualifying address
  • The prescribed nomination forms completed and signed by the candidate (Form 1)
  • Filing fee payable by cash, certified cheque, or money order. $100 per office, or $200 for the office of Mayor, payable by cash, debit, certified cheque, or money order
  • Candidates for a municipal council office must also submit the prescribed endorsement of nomination form signed by at least twenty-five (25) eligible electors in the municipality. (Form 2)

Nomination forms must be filed with the Municipal Clerk or designate before you can accept contributions or spend money on your campaign.

The deadline to withdraw from nominations is Friday, August 21, 2026, prior to 2:00 p.m.

Individuals seeking nomination for municipal office are responsible for ensuring they are familiar with and comply with the requirements of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. This includes, but is not limited to, rules related to eligibility, nominations, campaign financing, and election conduct. Candidates are encouraged to review the legislation and any applicable guidance materials to fully understand their obligations throughout the nomination and election process.

Advance Voting Period: October 13, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. and run until October 25, 2026

Voting Day: October 26, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the close of polls at 8:00 p.m.
