What are you interested in?
Enjoy a fully guided, in-depth one-hour tour of Annandale House, tailored to meet a wide range of curriculum needs. Students will explore topics such as the Aesthetic Art Movement, life in Victorian times, sustainability, and genealogy.
Following the tour, participants will come together for an age-appropriate hands-on craft, thoughtfully connected to Annandale NHS’s unique history, setting, and visitor experience.

Students will tour historic Annandale National Historic Site and explore the beautiful stained-glass windows found throughout the house. They will learn about the history of stained glass, discover how these colourful windows were created, and examine the designs, patterns, and colours used in Annandale’s 1880s interiors.
After exploring the house, students will use the historic windows as inspiration to create their own vibrant “Windows of History.” Through this hands-on activity, students will experiment with colour, pattern, and design to create a unique stained-glass-inspired artwork that reflects their own creativity while connecting to the history of Annandale.

Step inside a local Victorian-era home and ee how families lived without electricity, modern appliances or today’s technology. Discover what daily life was like in the 1880s-from clothing to the simple routines that shaped their world.

Students explore how communities grow and change by examine Tillsonburg's historical and modern maps. They learn why streets are named they way the are and then apply their understanding by deigning a personalized map that reflects the people, places and environments that matter to them

Students will explore historic Annandale National Historic Site and discover the decorative stencils that once brightened the walls and ceilings of the home. During their visit, students will learn how stenciling was used as a popular and affordable way to decorate Victorian homes and add colour and pattern to everyday spaces.=
After exploring the house and seeing examples of historic decorative designs, students will have the opportunity to create their own historically inspired stencil design. Using traditional patterns and ideas for inspiration, students can experiment with shapes, colours, and repeating patterns to create a unique piece of artwork to take home.

Annandale National Historic Site is excited to offer in-person school programming in celebration of our 2026 holiday season exhibition, A Kitschy Christmas.
During this interactive program, students will explore the A Kitschy Christmas exhibition, discovering the history and fun behind kitschy holiday traditions—from outrageous decorations to quirky vintage ornaments.
Following the guided tour, students will participate in a hands-on craft activity, creating their own kitschy Christmas ornament to take home while embracing the playful spirit of holiday creativity.
