The Great Pumpkin Rescue 2026

Back to Search

The Great Pumpkin Rescue is returning this fall to the Tillsonburg Transfer Station, 50 Newell Road.

From Sunday, November 1 to Saturday, November 7, residents can drop off unneeded pumpkins, decorative squash, and gourds in the collection bin located in the Yard Waste area. Collected pumpkins, squash, and gourds can be repurposed into community meals and feed for local livestock, helping to reduce landfill waste.

Residents, businesses, restaurants, and farmers are also welcome to take the collected pumpkins, squash, and gourds for use in recipes, animal feed, and other purposes.

Donated pumpkins, squash, and gourds must be:

  • Free of paint
  • Free of rot or rust
  • Free of plastic
  • Free of metal
  • Free of wax

Join The Great Pumpkin Rescue and help reduce landfill waste by giving your leftover pumpkins, squash, and gourds a second life!
