At approximately 6:50 a.m. this morning, fire crews were dispatched to reports of a structure fire in the area of Broadway Street and Concession Street East.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered smoke and flames showing from the upper second storey of the structure. Crews quickly initiated fire suppression operations and worked to contain the fire while conducting searches and protecting surrounding properties.

Firefighters and police remain on scene as suppression, overhaul, and investigation efforts continue. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.

Motorists and residents are asked to avoid the area and follow directions from emergency personnel while crews continue their work.

There are currently no additional details available regarding injuries or damage estimates. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
