In recognition of British Home Child Day, the Rotary Clock Tower will be illuminated yellow from Friday, September 25, 2026, through Monday, September 28, 2026.  

British Home Child Day on September 28 honours the more than 100,000 British Home Children who were sent from the United Kingdom to Canada between 1869 and 1948. 

Many British Home Children settled in communities across Ontario, including Tillsonburg and the surrounding area, where they helped shape the growth and development of the community. 

British Home Child Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the experiences of these children, acknowledge the hardships many endured, and recognize the resilience and contributions of British Home Children and their descendants.
