Flags Lowered to Half‑Mast for Workers’ Day of Mourning
Today, April 28, we observe the Workers’ Day of Mourning, a national day of remembrance for workers who have lost their lives, suffered injury, or become ill as a result of their work.
In recognition of this solemn day, the Town of Tillsonburg has lowered its flags to half‑mast as a sign of respect for those affected and their families, friends, and colleagues. Every workplace tragedy leaves a lasting impact, not only on loved ones but on the entire community.
Workers’ Day of Mourning also serves as an important reminder of the role we all play in fostering safe and healthy workplaces. Whether at work, at home, or in the community, safety is a shared responsibility.
The Town of Tillsonburg encourages residents to take a quiet moment today to reflect on the importance of workplace safety and to honour the workers whose lives were lost or forever changed.
