Flag Half Mast:

Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day (Last Sunday in September) is observed annually in Canada to honour police and peace officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty while serving and protecting their communities.

On this day, flags are flown at half-mast as a sign of national respect and remembrance, reflecting a shared sense of loss and recognizing the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The day also provides an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of all police and peace officers and to express support for the families, colleagues, and communities impacted by their service and sacrifice.

Flags flown at municipal buildings and facilities shall be lowered to a half-mast position from sunrise to sunset to observe this day.
