The Tillsonburg Community Centre will be closed to the public on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. while staff complete important testing on the facility’s backup power system.
In recent months, the backup power system has experienced technical issues and since the Tillsonburg Community Centre is designated as an emergency evacuation centre, it is important that the system works properly when the community needs it most. This testing will help staff identify the issue and take the steps necessary to ensure the system is dependable.
During testing, sections of the building will temporarily lose power. For everyone’s safety, the entire facility will be closed during the testing window.
Recreation programs scheduled for this period will be canceled. Staff will reach out to participants directly via email with details.
The Tillsonburg Community Centre will reopen for regular operations once the testing is complete.
