The Town of Tillsonburg is continuing its spring water system maintenance program.

April 13- May 31
Directional flushing of watermains in all areas south of North Street and east of Tillson Avenue/Vienna Road.

Flushing will begin each morning at 8:00 a.m. and conclude by 3:00 p.m. Residents may notice some cloudy or discoloured water when watermain flushing occurs. These temporary side effects are not hazardous to the public and can be resolved by turning on the cold water taps to clear the system. If discolouring continues beyond a three-day period, please contact Customer Service at 519.688.3009.

Seasonal Water Restrictions

Oxford County relies entirely on groundwater for its drinking water supply.

Oxford County By-law No. 4193-2002 permits outdoor water use (by hose or attachment) every other day to ensure an adequate water supply for all residents. Outside water use includes watering lawns and gardens, washing your vehicle(s) and/or power washing your deck, driveway or house.

  • Even-numbered addresses water on even-numbered days
  • Odd-numbered addresses water on odd-numbered days

Outside water use for residential purposes is also restricted to 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

You can apply for an outdoor water use exemption permit if you need to use water outside the designated hours (automatic sprinkler systems, new sod etc.).
