The Tillsonburg and District Historical Society is a local, independent society that preserves and celebrates local history.
The Society was founded in 1973 to develop and support Tillsonburg's first museum. In the 1980s, the Society played a major role in the restoration of Annandale House, eventually securing its designation as a National Historic Site.

The Tillsonburg District Historical Society also organizes special fundraising events. The annual summer concert series "Music on the Lawn" provides an opportunity for local musical groups to perform, with all donations going to historical projects in Tillsonburg.
