Public Update #4 - COVID-19

Posted on Sunday March 15, 2020

Town of Tillsonburg offices limit public access

The Town of Tillsonburg is continuing to take action in response to the spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) in Canada.

Beginning Monday, March 16, entry to the Customer Service Centre (10 Lisgar Ave), Corporate Office (200 Broadway) and Cemetery Office (Simcoe Street) will be by appointment only.

Anyone who wishes to conduct in-person business at one of these offices is advised to phone first and discuss their needs with a customer service representative. Callers will be directed to online services if available, or offered other options as appropriate.

If staff deem that an in-person visit to a Town office is required, callers will be asked questions regarding their travel and health history prior to booking an appointment. Visitors with confirmed appointments should be prepared to show identification upon arrival.

The Town is also implementing enhanced cleaning and hygiene measures at all Town facilities. In addition, staff who have travelled internationally recently will be requested to self quarantine.

The Town recognizes that these changing service levels may present a challenge to some citizens, however we would not take this action if we did not believe it was in the best interest of the community.

Available online services

Residents and businesses are reminded that many services are available online including:

  • Recreation program registration/withdrawal
  • Property Tax payments
  • Utility payments
  • Pet licence purchasing
  • Garbage bag tag purchases

More information on how to access these services is available at If you encounter difficulties, please call 519-688-3009 and customer service staff will endeavour to assist.

Essential Services

EMS, Hydro, OPP and Water are running normally at this time. Tillsonburg Fire and Rescue Services has cancelled public education visits and other community activities, but emergency response and dispatching services are unaffected.
