Draft Graffiti By-Law

Posted on Monday April 15, 2019

NOTICE OF PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT

APRIL 15, 2019 to APRIL 29, 2019

DRAFT GRAFFITI BY-LAW

(Town of Tillsonburg)

The Town of Tillsonburg strives to ensure that the public is involved in all aspects of developing a safe, healthy and happy community.

Recently, the Town has completed a comprehensive review of the current Property Standards By-Law 3638 which was last reviewed and adopted by Municipal Council in 2012. The current Property Standards By-Law does not clearly lay out the provisions in regards to the removal of graffiti. While there are provisions that address the exterior of properties and the requirement for them to be in “good repair”, the provisions do not address graffiti directly. The proposed by-law would deal directly with graffiti and its removal from private property in a timely manner, especially in the case of the placement of offensive graffiti. The proposed Graffiti By-Law is a stand-alone by-law.

A copy of the draft Graffiti By-Law along with supporting material is available for review between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, at the Town of Tillsonburg Customer Service Centre and on the Town of Tillsonburg website. If you have any questions or comments regarding the proposed by-laws, please contact this office or submit written inquiries/comments to the regular mail or email addresses provided below on or before April 29, 2019
