Tillsonburg Update - March 31

Directional Flushing

The Town of Tillsonburg will be doing directional flushing in the following area:

  • March 28 to April 15 - Areas West of Quarter Town Line and North of North St.

Flushing will begin each morning at 8:00 a.m.  and conclude by 3:00 p.m. Discolouring may occur in the watermains as a result. Running cold water will help clear your household lines. If discolouring continues beyond a three-day period, please contact Customer Service at 519.688.3009.

The Transfer Station (50 Newell Road) is open! Note that spring hours begin in April.

  • 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

 Yard Waste Depot

  • Monday to Saturday
  • 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (October to March)
  • 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM (April to September)

New T:GO In-Town Route & Stops Coming April 19

Have you heard? T:GO In-Town transit is adding new stops to enhance service along Tillson Ave. and North St., beginning April 19. Plus the schedule has been revised to ensure that Glendale High School students can use T:GO and arrive on time for morning classes.

Recreational Fire Rules

Open-air burning is regulated in the Town of Tillsonburg by By-Law 3072. In general, you are allowed to have a recreational fire or a outdoor cooking fire if certain requirements are met. Some of these requirements include:

  • Containing your fire in a non-combustible container or pit specifically designed for open-air burning
  • Ensuring your fire is located away from combustible structures or objects
  • Ensuring your fire and the resulting smoke is not a nuisance to your neighbours.

If there are complaints from neighbours, your fire may be required to be extinguished, even if all other conditions are met.

If your fire does not meet all the requirements of the by-law, the owner of the property can be charged $509.89 the first hour, and $254.95 each additional half hour.

Tillsonburg 1872: The Story of Incorporation

The Pratt Gallery at Annandale National Historic site has a brand new exhibit celebrating Tillsonburg’s journey from hamlet on the Otter to incorporated town.

Tillsonburg 1872: The Story of Incorporation opened on the 150th anniversary of the Town’s first ever Council meeting (March 22, 1872). Learn more about how Tillsonburg became a town by registering for an upcoming Lunch and Learn session.
