Memorial Park Splash Pad Update

If you’ve ever done a construction project, you know that sometimes things don’t go quite the way you planned. Unfortunately, some supply chain and technical issues have delayed the opening of the Memorial Park Splash Pad.

At this point, we are still anticipating a late summer opening. While waiting is hard, it’s important to get the details right to ensure a safe and fun facility for all.

In the meantime, your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Free Swim at Lake Lisgar Waterpark

Bring the family and join us for a splashin’ good time at Lake Lisgar Waterpark on August 14. Enjoy free admission from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, thanks to M&J Tirecraft (Tillsonburg) and Al’s Tire (Burgessville; Ingersoll).

Learn about admission standards and facility amenities, including our giant twister waterslide, at www.tillsonburg.ca/ waterpark

Do It Right: Backyard Pools

Thinking about getting a pool this summer? Owning a pool is terrific—but it comes with responsibilities.

Outdoor swimming pools can pose a danger to young children if left unattended and unprotected. By-law 4008 requires every outdoor swimming pool that is capable of holding water deeper than 24 inches or is greater than 22 sq. ft. to be enclosed by a fence.

A permit is also required before any pool that can hold more than 24 inches of water or is greater than 22 sq. ft is installed.

Remember to investigate the cost of proper fencing/enclosure before purchasing any pool—including softsided and inflatable models. Learn more about the requirements for pools at www.tillsonburg.ca/pools.
