Posted on Friday April 12, 2019

The Town of Tillsonburg is currently reviewing its Development Charges By-Law, in accordance with the Development Charges Act, 1997, as amended (D.C.A.).

The Development Charges Background Study is available for download below. This study is being issued in advance of the Public Meeting which will be held on May 13 at 6:00 p.m. and prior to the passing of the By-Law on June 13 at 6:00 p.m. at a regular council meeting.

The purpose of the Development Charges By-Law is to recover the capital costs associated with the residential and non-residential growth within the community.  These relate to costs incurred that aren’t directly in a new development.  Municipalities ae empowered to impose these charges via the Development Charges Act.
