Do It Right: Backyard Pools

Thinking about getting a pool this summer?

Owning a pool is terrific—but it comes with responsibilities. Outdoor swimming pools can pose a danger to young children if left unattended and unprotected. By-law 4008 requires every outdoor swimming pool that is capable of holding water deeper than 24 inches or is greater than 22 sq. ft. to be enclosed by a fence.

A permit is also required before any pool that can hold more than 24 inches of water or is greater than 22 sq. ft is installed.

Remember to investigate the cost of proper fencing/enclosure before purchasing any pool—including softsided and inflatable models.

Help us improve your website experience!

Calling all Town of Tillsonburg website users! From now until June 26 at 8 pm EST, we’re inviting you to complete an online exercise that will help us evaluate the findability of topics on our website.

Participating is easy. All you have to do is click on the link below and follow the prompts. The exercise only takes 5-8 minutes to complete.

Have fun and thanks for your help!

Recreation Survey closes soon!

Last chance! The Town of Tillsonburg is conducting a survey of Tillsonburg and area households to learn more about the community’s recreational needs, practices and interests.

Your candid feedback will help us determine how to best meet the needs of our growing population. Plus, by completing the survey you can choose to have your name entered in a draw to win a season’s pass to Lake Lisgar Waterpark.

Take the survey by June 24 at www. tillsonburg.ca/recsurvey

Lake Lisgar Waterpark is open!

We’re back for another season of splashin’ good fun. Join us this weekend (June 25-26) and daily beginning June 30. We are currently awaiting a TSSA inspection of our giant twister waterslide. We will offer 50% off admission in the event the slide is not operational.
