Public input needed on cannabis regulations

Posted on Thursday December 13, 2018

Tillsonburg Town Council is inviting the public to provide input regarding where the smoking or other recreation use of cannabis will be allowed. A Frequently Asked Questions has been produced, and a survey has been launched to capture public opinion on this important issue. The survey is now closed.  For further information, please contact the Town of Tillsonburg.

What you need to know...

The use of recreational cannbis became legal in Canada on October 17, 2018.

The Town of Tillsonburg will be providing input to the Province of Ontario regarding the proposed locations for where the smoking or other use of recreational cannibis will be allowed in our neighbourhoods.

While the Town will have limited ability to control the location of brick and mortar cannabis retailers (i.e. physical stores) once they start opening in April 2019, we want to hear from our residents directly.

As part of our input to the Province, the Town wants to know how you feel about the smoking/use of, and the retail sale of, recreational cannabis in Tillsonburg and the enforcement of its public use.

The Town of Tillsonburg is launching an information and engagement campaign to provide you with the information you need to know to form an opinion on how to regulate and enforce the legalized use and sale of recreational cannabis.
