Bag Tag Program - garbage must be set out in a bag, bundle or rigid container (garbage can).  All garbage set out for collection must be tagged.

Tag Standards:
1 bag tag needed for:
  Each bag, maximum size of 76 x 96 cm (30 x 36") with a maximum weight of 20 kg (44 lbs)
2 bag tags needed for:  Each bag larger than 76 x 96 cm (30 x 36") with a maximum weight of 20 kg (44lbs)Each rigid container between 129-240 litres in size and a maximum weight of 20 kg (44 lbs)
3 bag tags needed for:  Each rigid container (Herbie Curbie) larger than 240 litres.  Maximum weight 45 kg (100 lbs)

IMPORTANT:

  • Tags must be stuck onto the top half of the garbage bag or be on top of the bundle (so it can be seen by the collector).
  • The tag can be applied either flat on the bag or around the neck of the bag folded over the ends stuck together.  Do not use the tag as a tie for the garbage bag - if it breaks or rips, it will not be accepted.
  • Both ends of the bag tag must be visible to be accepted.  Do not wrap the tag onto itself so that part of it is concealed.
  • If using a reusable rigid container, the tag(s) must be securely stuck on top of the loose material inside the container.
