Tillsonburg offers its residents year-round large item disposal at the Tillsonburg Transfer Station (50 Newell Road). The facility also offers a yard waste depot available to all Oxford County residents.  Users must present valid ID that contains a current address before entering the facility.

Hours of Operation

Temporary Closure

The Transfer Station will be closed July 10 for approximately 2 months to construct a new yard waste depot access and enhanced, user-friendly large item drop-off. In advance of the Transfer Station closure, extended Monday hours are available:

Extended hours June 26 to July 9:

  • Monday 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM
  • Wednesday 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM
  • Saturday 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Residents are reminded that the Oxford County Waste Management Facility (Salford Landfill) also accepts large items and yard waste materials as well as household hazardous waste materials.  In addition, yard waste can also be taken to 9 other locations, free of charge throughout the County including Ingersoll, Norwich and Otterville.

  *Any appliances containing Freon must have the Freon removed by a certified technician and must be properly tagged prior to disposal. Contact an area appliance store for more information on this process.
